Gu is trying out Halloween costumes! Part one! I want to do another half with Kek in the costume Gu picked out for him. HINT: It complements her “spaceman being eaten by a space bug” suit.
This is a really difficult project for me. Right now I’m trying to design a character for various poses in Character design - but the teacher doesn’t like my idea at all. He said that she was a grotesque monster and that if I wanted to draw muscles like that, I should just draw a man. I’m not trying to “subvert” and cliches or stereotypes, I just wanted to create a cute muscular girl. So now I have to decide whether to go forward with this design and potentially fail a project, redo the design and just make it a man, or scrap it all together and do something safer that will get me a good grade.
Art school, man.

Cartoon school: we’ll guide you on your way to designing any kind of fanciful creature your mind can conceive. Except female bodybuilders ew those are grotesque monsters. Make a talking flamingo-bear instead, that’s way more believable.
These designs are awesome and unique and creative. Can’t go having that now. You didn’t go into art to do something new.
I really like your ideas, and wow your teacher’s suggestion is almost laughably terrible. What the hell is that even supposed to be.
This is kinda funny because there’s already well established character designs, such as Chun Li in Street Fighter for example, who are cute women that are also muscular. This does skew a bit younger than those characters, but it’s still a really nice, cool design.
This is why I’m always apprehensive about people taking character design classes….it depends on the teacher I guess.
But I’ve been in this situation before.
These drawings are amazing, the one your teacher drew….i’ve seen it a million times before.
I want to see you pull off the muscular girl. YES DO IT. I really like it. Gosh this is lovely. Though I’m not too keen on the neck, it really makes her seem like her head is attached on instead of being a part of the whole.
Don’t take my word on it though but I really love how much you have bent the rules. The last action sketch is my favorite btw.
Your teacher’s figure is really wonky. I kinda imagined that she’s like a figurine and took the bottom half of a super hero and the top half of a 10 year old and glued them together. Not too inspiring.

As someone who has seen her work displayed in art shows before as well as seen the tattoo designs she’s done, I would highly recommend this artist for paid work. She does quality work honestly, and her prices are more than fair if not on the cheap side considering the cost of a tattoo now and days. Take her offer while it still stands! she’s great at painting, comics and character design as well! The image above is an example of a tattoo someone has already asked her for :)

I have come to realize that as a lowly barista, I can’t make money to survive. so Tumblr I am asking you to help.
For the longest time the only thing I’ve wanted to do, is commissions, mainly for tattoos. But, the thing is, I’ve never done it before.
I have a very broad range of ability, and would like to start taking commissions for tattoos, or any other works that anyone would like me to create.
For tattoos:
small inked = $10 large inked = $15
small inked/colored = $20 large inked/colored = $25
